Farming

A Kenyan farmer's half-acre went from nine bags of maize to 15, and his trees now pay school fees

Andrew Musamia and Eunice Nelima once lived in a grass-thatched house and got just nine bags of maize from half an acre. After joining a One Acre Fund farming group in 2008, Andrew harvested 15 bags, and timber from trees they planted now pays their youngest's school fees.

  • 9 bags of maize from half an acre in a good season
  • 15 bags from the same half-acre after training
  • Trees planted in 2008 now pay Grade 10 school fees

How it works

What we check
1

Look it up

Search by name or EIN. We cover every organization in the IRS records, including ones that lost their status.

2

See the evidence

Each check shows what we found, which public record it came from, and the date of that record.

3

Give with confidence

A charity that passes has a Give button that takes you to its own website. Your whole gift goes to the charity. We take nothing.

Be first to give to a whole cause in one gift.

Today you can give to any charity that passes, on its own website. We are building one gift split across a cause fund, monthly giving, and a record of what your money did. Leave your email and we will tell you when it opens.
